Martha’s Vineyard Packing List

UPDATED: 06/2020

Traveling typically brings a long list of things to do before heading out, while traveling, and once you return. Before heading to the Vineyard last year I was so focused on checking things off my list that I neglected my packing list. Big mistake! I can now say with absolute confidence that last minute shopping to pack is not the move. So, I am starting early by giving myself and my friends this short list to start getting organized:

1. LUGGAGE – My luggage was positively wrecked last year. Maybe it was the flights, or the trip from Boston to Woods Hole, or the ferry to Vineyard Haven. Who knows? What I know for certain is that I now have a perfect excuse to pick up a durable weekender and large suitcase. I’m eyeing this one and this one.

large luggage and sets.

2. SHOES – Last year I chose to bring a pair of sandals and some high heeled sandals. I thought I was being practical but that definitely was not the case! I walked and biked way more than I anticipated and did my feet no favors with the lack of support. I’m planning to bring sandals, flats, and sneakers this time around. How cute are these simple flat sandals?

3. DRESSES – Why spend time putting together multiple pieces when you can just pop on a dress? I found myself hopping from lunch to the beach then shopping and on to dinner. Having a few more dresses handy would have been clutch. I’m eyeing the pieces linked below.

4. HATS– The summer heat is no joke! I brought one hat last year as a cute accessory and ended up wearing it nearly every day. For sure bring more than one. Also, consider a light jacket for the cool nights.

5.SWIMSUITS– Oh, the dreaded s-word! I am the most guilty of shying away from swimsuit shopping. It’s something I conveniently manage to ‘forget’ each time I need a new one. Anyone else with me? Well, we’re letting all of that go and finding some super cute options to bring this year. Lots of brands are taking notice that versatility, style, and comfort are needed for all body types. You’ll catch me in one those cuties below, pinkie promise!
