5 Things You Need to Do in Germantown, Nashville

For one reason or another, I find myself in Nashville at least three times a year. I use each trip as an excuse to eat as much food as possible, hit a few shops, and maybe pop into a gallery or two.

If you’re following me on Instagram then you know I took a short trip to Nashville a couple of weeks ago. The day and a half we were there didn’t leave much time for exploring, but I got to check out a bit of the Germantown area and wanted to share in case you find yourself in the area!

1. Get Your Caffeine Fix At Barista Parlor – Barista Parlor brings the coffee, the chill vibe, and the inspo to do it for the ‘gram. I got the bourbon vanilla latte the first time we stopped in and an espresso the second time. The latte was out of this world good and the espresso hit me with enough caffeine to bike around the neighborhood! More on that later.

2. Buy All The Things At Abednego – Meredith, the shop owner, is absolutely awesome! She chatted us up about how she selects pieces for the store, suggested other places for us to check out, and showed us around her amazing store. Definitely stop in here for eclectic jewelry, badass shoes, and dresses that will take you from day to night.

3. Eat Your Weight In Vietnamese Food At Vui’s Kitchen – Have you ever visited a place where everything looked and smelled so you good that you just couldn’t choose? If not, you clearly haven’t been to Vui’s. I ended up ordering the lemongrass tofu bao buns, vegetarian bhan mi, and vegan pho. Everything was so good! I’m still in foodie bliss.

4. Grab A Bike From B-Cycle How cute are these bikes? I couldn’t resist stopping at the B-cyle station and renting one. A 24-hour rental was only five dollars. They definitely came in handy once we got in a time crunch and wanted to see as much as possible before hitting the road back to Memphis.

How hilarious is this installation we found on the side of a building?

5. Experience Alexis + Bolt – A + B is in a renovated house and makes you feel like you’ve stepped into something wonderful from the moment you enter. Each room has it’s own vibe and is packed with amazing clothing, accessories, and paper goods. They even have their open kitchen styled into the concept with products available for purchase.

I want to visit Nashville again so bad! I’ve only been once and we were really just passing through as we moved cross country. So we didn’t have time to do a whole lot. I’m hoping we can take a trip this summer and really take the time to explore 🙂
