Art + Charm: A 21c Museum Hotel Review

As promised in my Bentonville travel guide, I am sharing my review of the 21c Bentonville Museum Hotel. The amazing folks at Visit Bentonville and 21c Bentonville hosted my stay — and honestly, I absolutely loved the hotel. I can’t wait to stay at the other 21c locations!

THE LOCATION

The hotel is located just past the center of the Bentonville Town Square and has so many awesome amenities that you might find it hard to leave. When you do decide to leave, you are just a short walk to incredible food, locally owned boutiques, and lots of Southern charm. The square also regularly hosts events, live music, a farmers market, and more each week. If you happen to need more ideas for how to spend your day, there are copies of The Scout Guide and other local publications in each room. The front desk will also happily point you in the right direction.

THE ROOMS

I was so surprised to learn that I would be staying in the Luxury King for the weekend. The decor was fun, contemporary, and art-centered and the amenities were perfection. The local publications, Nespresso machine, and Malin + Goetz toiletries really made the space feel like home during the visit. As a someone constantly working on the go, I also really appreciated the lounge area and table to get some work done during the trip.

One more thing to note is how incredibly comfortable I found the bed! I normally sleep terribly in hotels, but I was out nearly as soon as I crawled into bed and had a difficult time leaving the bed the next morning. Luckily, there was excellent room service…

THE DINING

The Hive has it all — great food, tasty cocktails, excellent service and ambiance to spare. I was on a tight schedule and didn’t have time to sleep in, but I knew I wanted to spend just a few more precious moments in bed, so I ordered room service. I ordered The Hive breakfast, which included grits, eggs, skillet potatoes and a choice or bagel or toast. I was pleasantly surprised by the portion and definitely did not need the house made yogurt and granola, but I made room for it!

No time for extra meals at The Hive on this trip, but I dined there for lunch and grabbed drinks at the bar on my previous trip — highly recommend!

THE DIFFERENCE

Your 21c experience starts from the moment you arrive. The doors are whisked open and you’re greeted with the sounds of glasses clinking inside The Hive, views of awe-inspiring art at every turn, and an incredibly friendly team. Trust me, waking up to world-class food and art in a charming Southern town is the way to start your day.

I also really loved the gift shop. It was filled with unique stationery items, Malin + Goetz products, items featuring the iconic 21c green penguins, and art. I even spotted a few pieces by Kehinde Wiley!

Overall, I can’t say enough about my experience at 21c. I’m looking forward to checking out their Nashville, Cincinnati, and Louisville locations soon!

I love 21C hotels! I’ve stayed at their locations in Louisville and Cincinnati and been to the (new) one in Lexington, KY, too. I agree with you about the bed — I actually looked up the sheets when I returned home because they were so comfortable! Your photos capture the experience!

This hotel looks great! It is always nice to get sleep in a hotel. I usually don’t sleep well either.

Hotels are one of my favourite things about going away, and this one looks awesome! Most places I’ve been to have quite questionable art choices, but this one looks really interesting! Unique for sure, but it works well. Hope I can stay at one of these hotels some day!

So true! A lot of hotels leave art as an afterthought, so it’s refreshing to see art as part of the hotel experience! 🙂

Okay, I am sold on going to this hotel! I’m from Louisville & the one here is amazing. Plus I lived in Lexington when I went to UK and the one there is amazing too, so I think you’d enjoy them both.

But Arkansas is one place that I haven’t visited yet and I think you just sold me on what city to go to in Arkansas and where to stay!
